moveon.org

As Technical Campaign Manager at MoveOn.org, I've designed and built dozens of web projects, from optimizations, to html emails, to stand-alone mini-sites. Projects usually go from idea to launch in just a few days.

Email Invitation Template Redesign

A redesign of MoveOn's email templates increased event RSVPs by making asks clearer and positioning the buttons closer to the top of the message. Also... it looks better (though it's hard to quantify the effect that had).

For bonus points, I refactored the markup to allow for quick, easy re-theming. Here's an example of an alternate theme.

Tell-a-friend page Redesign

By clarifying the page's purpose (and making the buttons red and shiny) this redesign of MoveOn's “Tell a friend” page dramatically increased the number of times each petition is shared.

eliwhitney.org

A comprehensive redesign of the website for the Eli Whitney Museum. Built with Drupal to allow staff to maintain content in house.

The redesign oriented the site around the unique projects that the museum designs, produces and teaches.

I set up a simple system for explaining how projects are put together. Rather than laboriously creating assembly diagrams, this site uses photos and text: easy to create, and easy to update when designs change.

meganhislop.com

A simple site for an integrative therapy practice. Features strong typography, photography, and color.
